I wanted to read this book, because …
in January I listened to an radio interview with the authoress and was so fascinated by her personality that I wanted to read one of her novels. Her parents came originally from Ghana, she was born in London, now lives in Berlin with her four sons and is a journalist and activist for womens rights and a member of the Initiative for Black People in Germany.
The plot of ’’the things i am thinking while smiling politely“ is staring …
a woman who has been cheated by her husband and he wants to dissolve their marriage. The story is divided into different parts which tell the story in a non-chronological order.
What I didn’t like about this story is …
the non-chronological story line. Even if it is still easy to follow the plot and the tension really builds through uncommon structure, the end of the novel leaves the reader unsatisfied. The willful fragmented story gives you the feeling that you don’t know some of the important details about this plot.
I really enjoyed …
the insights into the private life of the protagonist.
You might still want to read this novel, if …
you are interested in a story that steps out of the line and might broaden your horizon.
Conclusion: A nice, but confused story.
Rating: 2.5 out of 5 points
’’Synchronicity. The Original Story.“ is about …
the woman Cee who loses the ability to see colors. It really is a beautiful and thrilling story, which was first published as a Christmas story in the author’s close circle of friends. I don’t want to give away any further details of the storyline this far.
A bad impression to me made …
nothing. :)
I really liked …
the overall concept of the novel. It was an entertaining and thrilling reading experience.
This book is for you if …
you are looking for an extraordinary story that is stimulating for your mind.
Conclusion: Lovely novels with interesting plots.
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 points
